Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.

What then is Direct Marketing.

Direct marketing is a course of selling products or services directly to the public e.g. by mail order, telephone selling, rather than through retailers.direct marketing is a form of advertising wherever organizations communicate directly to customers through a diversity of media including cell phone, text messaging, Email, websites, online adverts, data base.

Kinds of Direct Marketing

Direct mail

Direct mail is placed mail that advertises your business and its products and services. There are different types of direct mail (e.g. catalogue, postcards, envelope mailers). Direct mail campaigns are usually sect to all postal customers in an area or to all customers on a marketing list.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is so straightforward, cost effective and measurable means of reaching your customers. It can include e-news, letters, promotional emails to produce new leads or offers for existing customers, or ads that can appear in other business Emails.

Text (SMS) Marketing

Text messaging let businesses to reach individual customers and send messages to big groups of people at a low cost. You should use short message service (SMS) messaging to send customers sales alerts, links to website, updates, appointment or delivery reminders, or personalized messaging.

Telemarketing

Telemarketing involves get in touch with potential customers over the phone to sell products or services. It is capable of generating new customer prospects in large volumes and is also a useful tool for following up direct marketing campaigns. on the other hand, a successful telemarketing involves planning and using accurate and well researched customer data to match customer profiles to product profiles.
